AIPP - Australian Institute of Professional Photography

Founded in 1963, the AIPP is run for and by professional photographers and industry representatives who seek to set a standard of excellence within the photographic industry.

The AIPP strives to promote and maintain the highest standards of professional competence and business ethics in the industry. By maintaining rigorous entry criteria and a binding Code of Ethics for members, as well as providing ongoing education via seminars, workshops and events, the AIPP is a brand of trust in the photographic industry.

The AIPP has close associations with other industry bodies such as PICA, ACMP, AIMBI and other national and international organisations.

The AIPP is the largest organisation in Australia representing the interests of professional photographers. It has an ongoing commitment to encourage, promote and maintain the highest standards of competence in both the reproduction of photographic images and in the conduct of photographic business enterprises.

 

WPPI - Wedding Portrait Photographers International (USA)

Founded in USA in the 1970's WPPI is devoted to the special interests and needs of professional wedding photographers and portrait photographers.

WPPI is known internationally for its annual Convention and Trade Show, drawing over 12,000 attendees and 365 exhibitors to its new convention space at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

 

ACMP - Australian Commercial & Magazine Photographers

Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP), established in 1991, acts as a united voice for Australian professional working photographers.

The ACMP is committed to the development and promotion of professional photography. Together with the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) it represents around 2000 photographers in Australia.

The ACMP aims to safeguard and promote the interests of photographers by:

  • Promoting high professional standards and ethics in photography
  • Promoting co-operation and understanding between photographers and their clients
  • Establishing photographers' rights and setting precedents in areas such as copyright and finance
  • Encouraging development and discussion of all aspects of the business and art of photography
  • Influencing photographic education, and training procedures

BNI (Business Network International) is a business networking organisation with over 5,800 active chapters and 130,000 members in over 40 countries, it is the most successful business referral organisation of its kind.

 

SWPP & BPPA - Society of Wedding Photographers / British Professional Photographers Associates (UK)

Established in 1988 the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers was founded to service the needs of professional wedding and portrait photographers.

Founded at much the same time, the British Professional Photographers Associates were working with similar goals but encompassed a broader range of photographers.

In 2000 the two associations merged. This association boasts membership of only the finest Photographers. SWPP & BPPA members benefit from continuous education in the field through regular meetings and programs, access to educational materials, and sharing knowledge with their peers. SWPP & BPPA has a strict Code of Ethics that is rigidly enforced to ensure the consumer is not only hiring a talented photographer, but also one with impeccable business practices.
