Why should we choose a professional wedding photographer?

There are many reasons to choose a professional photography studio for your wedding to ensure you have stunning images that you will treasure.

Each of our professional photographers is trained to the highest levels by our Principal Photographer and Double Master of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) Graham Monro.

Rest assured that our photographers have studied and know that technical ability is crucial to working with light and documenting all of your details. They each pride themselves on producing creative and images that stand out from the crowd.

Our photographers are masters at being discreet on your day, yet still managing to capture all of the intimate and spontaneous moments that arise at your wedding. They also have the ability to adapt to their surroundings - understanding that each wedding is unique.

Our team is able to create images that are of a composed nature, yet free from stiff posing or dull detail. We are committed to natural beauty and photographic perfection.

How long have you been in the wedding photography business?

gm photographics' expert team has a combined experience of over 100 years. We have captured thousands of weddings nationally and internationally. Each of our photographers have been expertly trained by multi award winner and AIPP Double Master photographer Graham Monro. Through hard work and dedication to our creative vision, gm photographics has understandably become one of the most highly sought after wedding photography studios nationally and internationally.

What's gm photographics primary shooting style?

At gm photographics we are known for spontaneously capturning the mood and feeling of your wedding with elegance, warmth and artistry. Candid images are our forte. Our team is also able to create images that can be of a composed nature, yet free from stiff posing. We are experts at capturing the smallest of details. Each of our photographers will guide you through your day focusing on you and your guests being relaxed and natural.

Who will be our wedding photographer? Can we meet the photographer before our day?

On your first appointment with gm photographics you will meet with our Studio Manager. From here we suggest booking a pre-wedding shoot with your photographer. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and work with your photographer before your wedding day. Our team of photographers have all been hand-picked and trained by Graham Monro. All the work that you look at when deciding to choose gm photographics has been a team effort. Therefore, no matter which photographer is assigned to your wedding, you can be sure to get the same quality work. You will be informed beforehand as to which shooters will cover your special day.

Does gm photographics have a guarantee?

gm photographics is a proud award winning member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) and we are bound by a strict code of ethics. You can rest assured knowing gm photographics guarantee supreme service and professional products.

What is the gm photographics philosophy on wedding photography?

How will you make our wedding photographs unique and personal to us?

We are known for creating images that are unique to you and your location. Our photographers continually push the boundaries to create images that capture the emotion of the day and stand out from the crowd. Each of our photographers have the ability to adapt to their surroundings - understanding that each wedding is unique.

Does gm photographics use digital camera equipment?

We use only the highest quality professional camera and computer equipment. Our Canon camera equipment is updated and serviced regulary. Rest assured as we always ensure we have back up equipment at each wedding.

How intrusive will lighting, tripods, equipment or assistants be?

Our photographers are masters at being discreet on your wedding day, yet still managing to capture all the moments that arise.

How many photographers will attend our wedding?

Book any wedding photography package with 6 or more hours coverage and we include a second photographer for free. Book any wedding photography package with less than 6 hours coverage and have one photographer. Mostly you can expect two photographers to shoot your wedding - a principal and a secondary. By doing this gm can capture multiple angles of each special moment from your day.

Does gm photographics travel if our wedding is interstate or overseas?

We love to travel overseas to capture weddings. Some of our recent weddings include New York, Bali, Hamilton Island. Speak to our team to discuss your location and travel arrangements.

Can our guests take photographs at our wedding?

Certainly. However we do ask that gm photographics are the sole official wedding photographers. This allows us to ensure we capture every moment of your wedding day unobstructed.

What are the costs of the various levels of coverage?

Just like a bride choosing her dress, we believe a wedding package must be tailored to the couple's wants. To ensure we capture your day the way you want it, the gm team works with you to deliver the photos you're hoping for. Some factors include the length of coverage (just the ceremony or all day); coverage of the groom and his preparation; a presentation at the reception; and various products including wedding albums, gift albums, wall art and more. How many photographs will be taken during our wedding?

There is no limit to the amount of photographs taken during your wedding day.

Do we receive colour or black and white photographs?

Yes, as all of your images are captured digitally, any image can be produced in colour or black or white. When presenting prints, we'll find the best process to suit the mood of your day. Your wedding album can be made up of both colour photos and black and white photos.

What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots?

We have a meeting prior to your wedding where we can sit down and discuss all of your requests. We take detailed notes form this appointment so we can best prepare for your photography.

Do you have back up photographers just in case?

Yes. This is one of the many benefits of choosing gm photographics. We have a large team of professional trained photographers that we can call on.

Do your photographers have a dress code?

It is important for us that our photographers are dressed appropriately and professionally. Each of our photographers adhere to our gm photographics dress code.

Can we purchase a high resolution DVD of our wedding photos?

Yes, choose a package from Classic, Designer or Boutique and you can purchase your wedding images on DVD. This is a great idea for producing your own enlargements or email to friends and family. All original digital files are included in most packages.

How long does gm photographics keep our wedding photographs?

gm photographics will keep a digital copy of all of your wedding images for a period of 10 years.

What else can we do to prepare for our wedding?

Your wedding journey begins with your engagement. So should your photo journey. The portrait session is included in most packages for free and consists of you coming to our studio for a one hour shoot. These photos can then be used for anything and everything in preparation for your wedding. It also allows you to see how we work and find out what you can expect on the day. An engagement shoot is a great opportunity to meet with your photographer and look at a potential location spot for your wedding shoot. Our photographers will guide you through a shoot and get you comfortable in front of the camera.

What is the gm photographics bridal gift registry?

An album registry is another way gm helps you get the photos you want, when you want. Your guests can make monetary contributions towards your album or prints, meaning you'll have more cash to spend on your honeymoon! This is a great option to give your wedding guests who may not know what to buy for a wedding gift. We provide you with a registry card to send to your guests giving them an easy option of purchasing gift certificates for you to put towards your wedding photography package.

How will we be shown the photos for selection after the wedding?

After returning form your honeymoon, you will come back into our studio to view your images in our cinema lounge. Sit back and relax while we present you with a slideshow of your images.

How do we select the final photos for our wedding album?

It is your wedding album! Our design team will prepare some suggestions for your album on your return. We will go through every photo with you at your appointment using the latest viewing software making it so easy for you to select and decide on your favourite photos. Should you decide you want more in, or out, we'll then rework the album, with you, to ensure it's exactly what you're after. We will help you create the wedding album of your dreams with a minimum of fuss.

How can it be simplified so that friends and family can order re-prints?

At gm photographics we have a hassle-free ordering service. Your wedding photos will be loaded onto an photo gallery on our website. Your guests can go directly to your wedding and view all of your photos. They can order any photo, choose their size and quanity through our online ordering system. Images will be sent out to them directly.

How long after our wedding will our photos and album be available?

If you have not chosen to have an album immediately, the proofs will be ready to pick up in about 4-5 weeks.  At this time, we will book you in for an initial viewing where you can come and experience all the special memories of your fabulous wedding day.

If you have booked an album, immediately after the initial meeting we begin design. Allow 6 hours for your wedding album planning session. It takes another two weeks to finish your album design and we work through the 500-800 images from your wedding (depending on your chosen length of coverage).

Each of our wedding albums are custom ordered and hand made to the highest quality possible. It is for this reason we allow 14 weeks for delivery after your album design appointment.

Can we buy our proofs?

Your proofs are presented in a digitally bound proof book and are available for purchase.

Can you enlarge photos? Supply display prints? Retouch photos?

Our studio uses some of the top tools to ensure we can meet all your expectations. gm photographics has many different print options and display suggestions - both large and small - to meet the requests of every couple. This includes retouching anything that might spoil a perfect shot.

Do we enter into a legal contract?

Yes. gm photographics has a wedding agreement designed to protect both you and the studio. This is a standard wedding agreement and is backed by the AIPP. We go through the details of the contract at your appointment. You may take this contract away to read over and sign before returning it to us. Click here to read more about the AIPP.

What is your payment policy?

To secure your wedding date, we ask for a $750 non-refundable booking fee. A photographer is allocated to your wedding day immediately. This can be paid by direct deposit, cheque, Visa, Mastercard or EFTPOS. You will then have until three weeks prior to the wedding to decide what you'd like to include in your package, such as length of coverage etc. That is when the final payment is due.
